Fun daytime date activities in Boise

While date nights are nice, a daytime date is a lot better in some respects. For one, daytime dates are more fun – you have a lot more options available, and it’s nice to go out and do things while it’s still day and nature is at its finest. If it’s been a long time since you’ve been on a date and you were looking for ideas, here are some great ones!

1. Pedego Electric Bikes

Rent two bikes (or one), and ride away! Take a picnic basket along, find nice spots to stop and have a little lunch, observe the scenery around the beautiful city of Boise, soak in the sunshine, get some light exercise – all while spending time together. When you’re all done, bike back and have a nice lunch at a restaurant for the perfect end to a perfect date.

2. Recycled Minds Comedy

If you prefer something indoors for the winter, this is perfect! You don’t have to worry about the weather, and comedy shows are always fun. Sit back and enjoy the wit and humor of some of our town’s finest comedians.

3. Kristin Armstrong Municipal Park

Have a leisurely picnic in this charming little park. Choose a nice, sunny day, fill your basket with goodies, and step out for a lazy day basking in the winter sun and eating under the open sky. Share your food with the resident birds, watch the bugs go about their busy lives, and spend some time in each other’s company, doing nothing but being there.

4. Telaya Wine

Love wine? Then you’ll love this place! They provide wine tasting, tours, and they have delicious food. They also host events regularly, so try out their Wine & Food Events for a fun date with some locally made wine. They have indoor and patio seating, and they’re open from noon to 6:30 (till 7:30 on some days).

5. Lemon Tree

For a quick and simple date, head over to Lemon Tree for some of the best sandwiches you’ve ever tasted. They have some great options, and all of them taste fab-yoo-lous! They have lots of vegetarian and vegan items, and they also serve soups, salads and beverages. Their artisan sandwiches (especially Big Cheese, Yam & Cheese, and Peruvian) are to die for.

6. Idaho River Sports

If you want some adrenaline-pumping excitement, water sports are the very thing for you! Kayaking, rafting, surfing, canoeing…all very fun, all great ideas for a date. You can rent gear and boats from the store, and they have classes and events as well.

7. Lucky Peak State Park

This 240-acre park is a stunning place where you can lose yourselves and have the best day of your life. You can go hiking, biking, fishing, boating, horseback riding, birdwatching, disc golfing – and we’re only halfway down the list! This one’s last, but absolutely not the least.

Most businesses are trying to come up with ways to stay open safely, but do your part and wear a mask when you go outside. Some places (like the Lucky Peak State Park) require a mask, and you may be denied entry if you’re without one.
